Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our platform. They govern your access to and use of our AI-powered education services.

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "User") and Laravel, operated by Javaabu Pvt Ltd ("we," "our," or "us"), governing your access to and use of our AI-powered education platform, website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

Important: If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a school, organization, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Eligibility

To use our Platform, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account on the Platform. Users under 13 may only use the Platform through school-authorized accounts, where the school has obtained necessary parental/guardian consent.
  • Capacity: If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent, guardian, or authorized educational institution.
  • Organizational Use: If you are registering on behalf of a school, educational institution, or organization, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of that entity, and that entity agrees to be bound by these Terms.
  • Accurate Information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and keep your account information updated.

Account Registration & Security

Account Creation

To access most features of the Platform, you must register for an account. During registration, you will be asked to provide information including your name, email address, and role (teacher or student). You may also be invited to join by an organization administrator.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (username and password).
  • All activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorized by you.
  • Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
  • Ensuring your account information remains accurate and up-to-date.
Security Tip: We strongly recommend using a unique, strong password for your Laravel account. Never share your login credentials with others. Teachers and administrators should never share their accounts with students.

Account Types

The Platform supports the following account types, each with different permissions and capabilities:

  • Teacher Accounts: Can create and manage classes, import syllabi, generate questions, create quizzes and worksheets, host live quiz sessions, and view student analytics.
  • Student Accounts: Can join classes, participate in quizzes, complete practice sessions, use the AI tutor, and view personal learning progress.
  • Administrator Accounts: Can manage organizational settings, users, and access organizational-level analytics and reporting.

Platform Usage

License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, educational, or organizational purposes as intended by the Platform's design.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful, educational purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically:

  • Use the Platform in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Use the Platform only for legitimate educational purposes consistent with the Platform's intended use.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others and only upload content you have the right to use.
  • Treat other users with respect and refrain from harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior.
  • Follow any additional guidelines or policies we may publish from time to time.

User Content

Your Content

The Platform allows you to create, upload, post, and share various types of content ("User Content"), including but not limited to:

  • Syllabi and curriculum documents
  • Questions, quizzes, and assessments
  • Worksheets and educational materials
  • Student responses and submissions
  • AI tutor conversations
  • Profile information and class descriptions

Ownership

You retain ownership of the User Content you create and upload to the Platform. However, by submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Platform and its services.

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use and authorize us to use your User Content.
  • Your User Content does not infringe upon or violate the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
  • Your User Content does not contain any material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Your User Content is accurate and not misleading in an educational context.

Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, monitor, edit, or remove any User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or may be harmful, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate. We are not responsible for any User Content posted by users of the Platform.

AI-Powered Services

Our Platform includes various AI-powered features. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

AI Syllabus Import

AI processes uploaded documents to structure content. Results should be reviewed for accuracy before use in teaching.

AI Question Generation

Generated questions are suggestions and should be reviewed by educators for accuracy, appropriateness, and curriculum alignment.

AI Tutor Chat

AI tutoring provides supplementary educational support. It is not a substitute for professional teaching or academic counseling.

AI Answer Evaluation

AI-generated scores are indicative assessments. Final academic grades and evaluations remain the responsibility of the teacher.

AI Disclaimer: AI-generated content, evaluations, and recommendations are provided for educational assistance only. While we strive for accuracy, AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. Teachers and educators maintain full responsibility for reviewing and approving AI-generated content before use with students. AI features should supplement, not replace, professional educational judgment.

Intellectual Property

Our Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content (excluding User Content), features, functionality, design, source code, algorithms, AI models, trademarks, logos, and service marks are and will remain the exclusive property of Laravel and its licensors. The Platform is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

Restrictions

You may not, without our prior written consent:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Platform.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Platform.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Platform.
  • Use any automated systems or means (including bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to access, monitor, or copy any content from the Platform.
  • Use the Platform's AI features to develop competing products or services.
  • Sublicense, resell, or redistribute access to the Platform or its features.

AI-Generated Content Ownership

Content generated by our AI features (such as auto-generated questions, structured syllabi, and AI evaluations) based on your input is considered a derivative work. You retain a license to use such AI-generated content for your educational purposes. We retain rights to the underlying AI technology, models, and algorithms used to generate such content.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

Harmful Activities

Using the Platform to harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users, or to distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code.

Unauthorized Access

Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts, Platform systems, or networks connected to the Platform.

Impersonation

Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.

Academic Dishonesty

Using the Platform's AI features to engage in or facilitate academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or cheating in graded assessments.

System Abuse

Overloading, disrupting, or interfering with the Platform's servers, networks, or infrastructure, including denial-of-service attacks.

Spam & Advertising

Using the Platform to send unsolicited communications, advertisements, or promotional materials to other users.

Violation of any of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of your account and may subject you to civil and criminal liability.

Subscriptions & Payments

Free and Paid Features

The Platform may offer both free and paid features. Access to certain advanced features, increased usage limits, or premium capabilities may require a paid subscription or one-time payment.

Payment Terms

  • Billing: If you purchase a paid subscription, you agree to pay all applicable fees as described on the Platform at the time of purchase. Fees are stated in the currency indicated and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise noted.
  • Payment Processing: Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your designated payment method.
  • Recurring Subscriptions: If your subscription is on a recurring basis, your payment method will be automatically charged at the beginning of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Price Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. For existing subscribers, price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following notice of the change.

Refund Policy

Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. Generally:

  • You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not substantially used the paid features.
  • Refunds for subscription renewals must be requested within 7 days of the renewal charge.
  • We reserve the right to deny refund requests that we determine to be fraudulent or abusive.

Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your profile settings. Upon termination:

  • Your right to access and use the Platform will immediately cease.
  • We will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Any unused portion of a paid subscription will not be refunded unless required by applicable law.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms or any applicable policies.
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users, the Platform, or our business.
  • Extended periods of inactivity (we will provide notice before deletion due to inactivity).
  • Request by law enforcement or government agency.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, the following sections of these Terms shall survive: User Content (ownership provisions), Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law.

Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
  • AI-generated content, evaluations, scores, or recommendations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular educational purpose.
  • The Platform will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
  • Any defects in the Platform will be corrected in a timely manner.
  • The results obtained from using the Platform will be accurate or reliable.

You acknowledge that you use the Platform at your own risk. Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Platform is accessed at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • No Consequential Damages: In no event shall Laravel, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Platform.
  • Liability Cap: Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
  • Educational Outcomes: We do not guarantee any specific educational outcomes, grades, test scores, or academic results from using the Platform. The Platform is a supplementary educational tool and is not intended to replace professional instruction, academic assessment, or educational judgment.
  • AI Limitations: We are not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on AI-generated content, evaluations, or recommendations provided through the Platform.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Laravel, its parent company, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of and access to the Platform.
  • Your violation of any term of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or other proprietary right.
  • Any User Content you create, upload, or share through the Platform.
  • Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party.

This defense and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of the Platform.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved as follows:

  • Informal Resolution: We encourage you to contact us first to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation.
  • Formal Proceedings: If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Maldives.
  • Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make material changes:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms.
  • We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the Platform (e.g., an in-app notification or banner) or via email to registered users at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
  • If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes. You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically.

General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other legal notices or policies published by us on the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and us concerning the Platform.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
  • Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or internet service disruptions.
  • Notices: We may provide notices to you via email, in-app notifications, or by posting on the Platform. You may contact us using the information provided in the Contact Us section.
